About the song

“Son of God,” a worship and praise song by John Pape is a great choice for Easter and Good Friday services. The lyrics of the song are inspired by 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, which speaks of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The song’s opening verse speaks of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for humanity, and the chorus declares reverence for Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Prince of Peace. The song’s music is electric, somber, and reflective, with a modern and contemporary feel that supports and enhances the message of the lyrics. Overall, “Son of God” is a powerful expression of faith that can inspire listeners to worship and praise Jesus Christ.

Son of God – John Pape

He's the One
Who died so I could live
By His blood
He gave all he could give

Son of God
Prince of Peace
I bow down at your feet
Holy and Righteous Lord

At the Cross
The final deed was done
It's His gift
That's free to everyone

Son of God
Prince of Peace
I bow down at your feet
Holy and Righteous Lord

Trust in Him
Believe He's alive
Risen from the dead

Son of God
Prince of Peace
I bow down at your feet
Son of God
Prince of Peace
I bow down at your feet
Holy and Righteous Lord

John Pape Bio

John Pape is a independent, self managed Christian songwriter who creates worship and praise music for seekers and believers in the church.

John states his mission “My music ministry is to create songs that will encourage a closer relationship to Jesus. The songs are crafted to help Christians though their daily walk. The songs provide a positive soundtrack for people’s lives.”

John’s songwriting drive is to honor God though words and music. His experience has grown over several years of honing the art of songwriting.

Born and raised in California his musical journey began as a young boy. His first instrument was the violin and her participated in the school glee club. As a teenager he got his first guitar. After a few lessons, he basically self-taught himself with a veracious appetite to learn the guitar.

John was going through a spiritual journey which eventually led him to a small store front church where he heard the gospel and by faith believed in the saving grace of Jesus.

At the time of conversion life had to change. It no longer seemed appropriate to live the rock n roll lifestyle. So, for a season the guitar was set down. After a period of time while reading the bible, he read the parable of the talents. Convicted, that he was not using his God given talent of music he prayed. Then leaving his home to take a meditative walk he passed by a piece of paper on the sidewalk. I voice spoke and said to pick up the paper. Turning around he picked it up and it was a song sheet. Not just any song sheet but a Christian song. Realizing that was confirmation he reached out that week to find a Christian band to join. Within a week he was in a Christian Rock band that wrote original music. This band lasted a few years, but the passion to write songs continued. Some early solo releases included “Tunes for Him” and “Almighty Reigns”

Some of John’s musical influences that help shape his songwriting include Chris Tomlin, Benton Brown, Matt Redman. In addition to these influences, John’s sound is shaped by Maranatha Music, Passion, Hillsong and Jesus Culture.

John is also author of the book “Building a House of Worship”. The book was written as a guide to Christian church worship leaders to better minister to the people they serve as they use their gift of music.

Currently John is working on a project to release several new Praise and Worship songs that were written to build and encourage Christians in their daily walk.

Scripture Reference

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
